Common questions

Sole trader, company or trust – how do I choose?
It depends on your risk, your tax position and your plans. We walk through the trade-offs in plain English in your first meeting, and the decision stays yours.
What taxes will I actually need to deal with?
Usually income tax, GST once you’re registered, and PAYG withholding when you take on staff. We set up the right registrations and lodgements so nothing sneaks up on you.
What software should I use?
For most new businesses we recommend Xero – we’re a Xero Platinum Partner – but we’ll fit the software to your business, not the other way round.
How do I pay myself?
It depends on your structure. We’ll set up a simple routine for putting money aside for tax and paying yourself sustainably from day one.
What does it cost?
We offer a range of packages based on your needs – and unlimited quick (5-minute) questions and emails are included, so you’re never watching the clock.
